Shell is at 1700 feet approximately so its considered fairly high jungle. Its a great town with many small shops and Bed and Breakfast style hotels. Its the home of HCLBs Hospital so good medical care is available there. Its altitude gives it a much cooler climate than out in the jungle just a few miles away, yet you will get a great experience there. Close by is HolaVida a great nature preserve and is privately owned. A fantastic water fall is in the middle of the jungle at HolaVida.
